Kick Form


You will only be taught this, if you have learnt the 30 Form. This is for two reasons:


Firstly, it's the second part of learning your way through the long 108 form, so it would be cart before horse starting with this.


Secondly, there are a lot of postures standing on one leg for the kicks, so balance improvements aren't just a nice-to-have, but become a focus of learning your way through this section. When I started tai chi myself, I could only stand on one leg for 4 seconds, before falling, so this section really helped me improve, but I had to work hard at the balance techniques to achieve that! Your instructor will give you techniques to practise for yourself, so that one day you too will be happy to achieve better balance in these postures.
